John Weinfeldt, AMSEL-RD-C2-CS-N. E-MAIL: US Army CECOM,
weinfeldt@doim6.monmouth.army.mil. This is a market survey seeking
information regarding industry developments aimed at improving the
resistance of fielded and next generation GPS user equipment to
jamming, spoofing and unintentional interference sources with specific
implementation on Army platforms. No buy is intended by this
information gathering market survey. Information is desired about
technologies and product developments that can be used as appliques to
currently fielded systems as well as those that may be designed into
the next generation GPS receivers. Due to large number of GPS units
employed by the Army and the limited size, weight and power that can be
supported on Army platforms it is most desirable to identify products
and technologies that are characterized by low cost, small size and low
power demand. The technology areas of interest include, but are not
limited to the following: antenna systems, temporal filters, spatial
filters, jammer signal characteristic exploitation, extended signal
correlation times, aiding systems, GPS navigation message data
stripping, digital signal processing techniques and direct P (Y) code
acquisition. CECOM will use this information to support advance GPS
user equipment planning and to assess its cureent laboratory test
capablities. It is the intent to upgrade existing laboratory
capablities to support the test requirements of the technologies and
products identified as a result of the market survey. In a follow on
effort, the Government plans to obtain test articles through
consignment, lease or outright purchase. Interested firms should submit
a statement of interest and capabilities, including brochures and
descriptive literature. The Government will review all submitted
statements of capabilities to determine market availability of the
required technology. To arrange for an invited briefing, submit your
request in writing to John Weinfeldt by FAX at 908-427-4673. Submit
your information not later than 28 February 1997. (0043) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0393 19970214\99-0007.SOL)
