Provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary to conduct 9000
Hour Top End Overhaul and other work including, but not limited to, the
following items: 1) Overhaul of such parts as Cylinder head, Camshaft,
Crankshaft, Fuel Injection Pump, Turbocharger, 2) Dynamometer testing
of engine, 3) Removing and Reinstalling such parts as Cylinder Head,
Cylinder Liner, Fuel Injector Pump, 4) Preparation for Storage and
Delivery (internal and external), and 5) Furnishing New Shipping
Crates. This Procurement is for a one (1) base year and Four (4) option
year contract beginning 01 October 1997. All referenced documents are
available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA.
There will be a requirement for bidders who are not PAXMAN dealers,
and wish to obtain PAXMAN manuals from the Coast Guard, along with the
agreement, acceptable form of security, with a penal sum of $5,000.00
which will be returned to the bidder upon return of the complete
Paxman Manuals together with the necessary certifications. The proposed
contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be issued on or
after 10 MAR 1997. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall
be considered by the United States Coast Guard. This notice is for
informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $5,000.00.
