work to be performed under this acquisition includes the following:
Switchgear and cables -- removing and disposing of an existing 4160
volt switchgear; furnishing and installing a new 4160 volt switchgear,
segregated bus with supports, galvanized steel pothead supports and
all associated control and power cables; testing for PBC contamination
prior to and removing and disposing of cable potheads and
approximately 800 feet of 7.5 KV lead covered cables; removing and
disposing of hazardous materials; modifying or replacing existing power
cable supports, if necessary; furnishing and installing approximately
800 feet of 7.5 KV EPR insulated, shielded cable; furnishing and
installing indoor and outdoor cable terminators with three spares each,
as required; and furnishing spare parts. Excitation system -- removing
and disposing existing voltage regulation equipment; furnishing and
installing new static excitation equipment; furnishing and installing
all associated control and power cables; testingthe new static
excitation system controls; and furnishing spare parts. Technical and
cost proposals will be required. Technical factors to be evaluated will
be the offeror's experience in similar work, the proposed excitation
equipment, the proposed 4160 volt switchgear, and the proposed 4160
volt cables. The estimated price range of the work is $250,001.00 to
$500,000.00. The work is located approximately 18 miles south of
Thermopolis, Wyoming, in Fremont County. Solicitation packages are
anticipated to be available February 28, 1997. Requests for
solicitations should be received on or before February 14, 1997.
Proposals are tentatively scheduled to be received by March 28, 1997,
at the office of the Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Regional
Office, Federal Building, Room 2031, Billings, Montana. Work under the
contract is to be completed by July 04, 1998. There is no charge for
the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets will be provided
upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each.
After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the
following offices of the Bureau of Reclamation: Wyoming Area Office,
2 miles west of Casper and 3 blocks south of Highways 20 & 26, Mills,
Wyoming or Great Plains Regional Office. All responsible sources may
submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Bureau of
Reclamation. For this acquisition, the small business size standard is
