The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with the State University of New York at Stony Brook (SUNY), Stony Brook, NY under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source, for a subscription to the Advanced Polymer Participating Research Team (AP-PRT). This SUNY membership would allow NIST an approximate amount of dedicated user synchrotron beamtime applying simultaneous small and wide-angle x-ray scattering (SWAX) techniques to investigate structure and dynamics of polymeric materials. The beamline is dedicated to polymer synchrotron scattering with necessary support facilities. This contract will be for a period of approximately ten (10) months from contract award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Written responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement.
