The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport is actively
soliciting offers on an unrestricted basis for engineering and
technical services concerning electromagnetic interference and
electromagnetic compatibility requirements involving Navy submarine
platforms. The work will encompass electrical, electronic and
mechanical systems. The specific systems include: navigation,
communications, sonar, fire control, weapons, propulsion, power
distribution, which also includes all related subsystems. The
anticipated work will utilize the following professional disciplines:
engineering, technical support, instructional, software and database
management. A Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite
Quantity contract is anticipated. The total estimated level of effort
is 84,000 hours. The following labor categories, number of personnel
and hours for each respective category will be required: Program Manger
(1)/Key category/10,500; Electrical Engineer III (2)/ Key/21,000;
Electrical Engineer II (2)/Non-Key/14,000; Electrical Technician III
(1)/Key/10,500; Illustrator II (1)/Non-Key/7,000; Technical
Writer/Editor II (1)/Non-Key/7,000; Computer Operator
II(1)Non-Key/3,500; Training Specialist I(1)/Non-Key/3,500; Word
Processor I/Typist I(1)Non-Key/7,000. The contract period of
performance will be five years. "Place of performance unknown. This
contract is subject to the Service Contract Act and the place of
performance is unknown. Wage Determinations have been requested for
Newport, RI & New Lon don, CT. The contracting officer will request
wage determinations for additional localities if asked to do so in
writing by 2:00 PM 15 days after issuance of solicitation." The
anticipated contract is a follow on to contract N66604-92-D-0060 with
McLaughlin Research Corporation. The SIC is 8711. All requests for the
