The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has a requirement for animal care services for the Silvio O. Conte Neuroscience Building (Building 49), located at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda Campus. The facility comprises eight floors totaling approximately 236,000 square feet which can be divided into office/support areas, research laboratories and a shared animal facility. The central animal facility (CAF) comprises approximately 43,000 square feet. Currently the Building 49 CAF is accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) and provides support to seven institutes at NIH. The period of performance of this contract will be for one year with with options renewable for four additional one year periods. All requests for solicitation shall be in writing. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. (0045)
