COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 19,1997 PSA#1785A -- HYDROGEN/OXYGEN PROTON EXCHANGE MEMBRANE FUEL CELLS POWER SYSTEMS
This is a Request for Information to gather information on vendors
performing current development of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel
cells. Presently, our primary focus is on hydrogen/oxygen PEM fuel cell
power system that will provide electric power for an advanced,
one-person space suit application. Our needs for this application fall
in the power range of 50-100 watts and voltage range of 24-32 volts,
and we are interested in sizing and design concepts for reduced mass
and volume and increased safety and reliability, etc. Responses should
include discussion of not only the stack, but also the system for
handling water removal, pump controls, reactant regulation, power
management, etc. Any experience with zero-gravity environments should
also be discussed. Please respond to: Art Vasquez NASA/ Johnson Space
