N/UWSS INDUSTRY INFORMATIONAL EXCHANGE CONFERENCE HQ NORAD-USSPACECOM/J5F will host an informational exchange conference with industry on 28 Feb 97 at the HQ AFSPC auditorium in Building 1, Peterson AFB CO from 0800 to 1400. The purpose of the conference is to inform industry of the NORAD/USSPACECOM Warfighting Support System (N/UWSS) initiative, and to solicit industry involvement in developing and refining the Master Evolution Plan which will be used to migrate existing NORAD and USSPACECOM Battle Management/Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (BM/C4ISR) systems to meet the needs of the 21st Century Warfighter. Industry involvement is on a voluntary basis . Commercial involvement is encouraged as well as DOD contractors. The conference will be unclassified and there will be no conference fee. The scope of the initial phase of the N/UWSS initiative includes the CINC's fixed and endurable command and control nodes (e.g. the Cheyenne Mountain Complex and the Mobile Consolidated Command Center) and interfaces to all associated sensor systems. Material and non-material improvement opportunities will be identified through the use of a focused business process reengineering effort conducted by a Multi-disciplined, Multi-Command team led by N-SP/J5F. The improvement opportunities will be incorporated into a Master Evolution Plan, which ties together all key requirements documents, migration plans, architectures (operational, systems, and technical), acquisition strategies, and cost analyses. The initiative is strongly endorsed by the highest levels of leadership within the Commands and heavy industry involvement throughout the planning phase is highly encouraged. The objective of the conference is to lay the foundation for industry involvement in the planning initiative providing maximum leverage of the industry knowledge base for C4ISR systems development and evolution.
