(1) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number DAAH01-97-T-0477 is hereby issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). (v) DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ITEMS TO BE ACQUIRED: One Tunable 1300 Nanometer Laser Diode Source and one each Tunable 1500 Nanometer Laser Diode Source with the following characteristics: 1. WAVELENGTH RANGE: MINIMUM REQUIREMENT 1300 plus or minus 20 NANOMETERS (1480 TO 1575 for the 1500 Nanometer Laser Diode Source). 2. ABSOLUTE WAVELENGTH ACCURACY: Plus or minus 0.1 NANOMETERS. 3. WAVELENGTH RESOLUTION: Greater than or minus 0.01 NANOMETERS (Greater than or minus 0.01 Nanometers for the 1500 Nanometer Laser). 4. THE UNIT MUST HAVE AN IEEE-488 INTERFACE TO FACILITATE AUTOMATION. E. THE UNIT MUST CONSIST OF ONE SELF-CONTAINED DEVICE RATHER THAN A NUMBER OF SEPARATE COMPONENTS. F.
