R -- TOWING, STORAGE, AND CARE OF SEIZED/FORFEITED VEHICLES SOL MS-97-R-0011 DUE 031997 POC POC: Debra Browne, 703-416-8976. This synopsis provides a modification to an earlier synopsis issued under SOL number MS-96-R-0011. The correction needs to be made under SOL number MS-96-R-0011 is to SOL number MS-97-R-0011 and the POC: Debra Skeldon, Contract Specialist, 703-416-8976 is to Debra A. Browne, Contract Specialist, 703-416-8976. The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) will hold a pre bid/pre proposal conference on February 19, 1997, 9:00 am until 12:00 noon, to elicit comments/recommendations from potential offerors concerning the acquisition of the services listed in "8." above by means of Commercial Practices and to ensure the Government's needs are better met. The conference will be held at the Wyndham Hotel (Conference room), 5975 Lusk Blvd. San Diego, CA. This Wyndham Hotel is located in the Mira Mesa area and you may call the hotel for direction, phone number 619/558-1818. This anticipated acquisition is for the towing, storage, maintenance and disposal of seized/forfeited vehicles for the Southern District of California. (The USMS anticipates providing a building for the indoor storage and land for the outdoor storage with the possibility of an auction area being located on/at the outdoor lot.) The estimated number of vehicles requiring storage and maintenance will range from 1,500 to 5,000 vehicles. Subsequent to the pre bid/pre proposal conference we expect to issue a solicitation in April 1997. The anticipated contract award is September 1997. This solicitation will result in one award. The USMS intends to award the contract for a 1 base year period and four (4) one year options.
