X -- COMMAND POST ACCOMODATIONS SOL S-OPRAQ-97-R-0031 DUE 040197 POC Camille C. Battle Contracting Officer The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, needs Command Post Accommodations and associated services for security agents during the United Nations General Assembly sessions to be held September 10, 1997 through October 6, 1997, in mid-town New York City. These accommodations shall be conference/meeting rooms that terminate at the end of a corridor to form securable, dedicated space for a Command post and that total a minimum of 3,000 square feet with partitions to allow at least 11 separate work areas, furnished with a minimum total 25 tables, lights, and 50 chairs. The Command Post shall allow for the installation of communications antenna. Additionally, an auditorium/conference room facility is required to be used as a Briefing Room to seat 50 people for 2 hours per day for seven (7) consecutive days during contract performance. The facility shall be located in Manhattan, no further south than 41st Street, no further north than 54th Street, and no further west than Fifth Avenue. The Command Post shall be equipped with proprietary telephone service provided by NYNEX. The government requires a staging area to be located within close proximity to the Command Post (one block) for approximately five (5) U.S. Government vehicles. The DOS will negotiate with the necessary entities to secure the staging area but requests that the Contractor idenify the staging area as part of its proposal. A site visit will be conducted by the COR and /or Department of State technical representatives prior to award of the contract for those offerors considered technically qualified. The Government intends to award a contract for one base year and five additional option years. The resultant contract will be a negotiated, fixed price contract.
