This project consists of nourishing approximately 1/2 mile of beach in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, located on the western limits of Michigan City, IN. In addition, the project will include sand monitoring activities such as aerial photography, survey profiles and sediment samples. The nourishment will be accomplished by trucking or barging in approximately 120,000 tons of sand from upland sources and constructing a sand berm along the beach.
