The wheels shall have a carrying capacity of 112,000 pounds (50 long tons). The wheels shall have a tapered tread of 1 to 1.5 degrees and shall also be designed to carry the complete axle load of 50 long tons while rolling on its flange's edges. Wheels shall be double flanged and shall meet the following dimensional profile: width (out to out between flanges) 150MM, tread diameter (at min. side) 460MM, flange diameter 490MM, flange width (at edge) 22MM. It is anticipated that a non-competitive sole source solicitation will be issued to Syncrolift, Inc., 8970 S.W. 87th Court, Miami, FL 33176 under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.301-1 unless additional sources are located.
