for Offer (RFO) for approximately 250 desktop workstations of three
configurations including 21" monitor analysis personal computers, 17"
monitor design personal computers, and 21" monitor design personal
computers in support of various directorates at JSC. JSC will perform
an evaluation for the purpose of selection which best fits the
organizational requirements. The anticipated contract will include
delivery of state of the art hardware, intergration of a standard
software load (provided by JSC), and installation which requires a
thorough knowledge of Windows NT Workstation and Windows95, backup and
restore of existing data from network devices and application
installation. The Government anticipates RFO release approximately 15
days after the synopsis appears in the CBD. Proposals will be due
within 30 calendar days of RFO release. Award is anticipated 2 weeks
after proposal due date. This procurement is being conducted under the
NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal
Procurement Policy. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item
using FAR Part 12. All responsible sources may submit an offer which
shall be considered by the agency. This RFO is issued as a full and
open competition. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or
about March 7, 1997, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about
April 7, 1997. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B". The
solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be
available over the Internet. These documents will be in ASCII or RTF
format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be
accessed using a WWW browser application. The WWW address, or URL, of

shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It is the
