70 -- GENERAL PURPOSE AUTOMATED DATA PROCESSING EQUIPMENT (INCLUDING FIRMWARE, SOFTWARE, SUPPLIES, AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT SOL IA-2102-S6234733 -- Z DUE 031297 POC Karen Rose, 202-205-9030 The U.S. Information Agency intends to negotiate on a sole source e basis under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the governments needs) with Com-Path Technologies, Inc. (Niantic, CT) for an Asynchronous Transfer Mode device driver to be used under the Intel version of the Solaris 2.X Operating System, including SunOS and the multivendor Common Desktop Environment (CDE). This driver and the supplier mu st meet the following technical and contractual requirements: A) The driver software must have been developed in conjunction with FORE Systems such that it interoperates with the FORE Systems ATM Switch product line; B) Full support for: 1) FORE Systems PCA-200EPC Adapter Card; 2) DLPI interface to the Solaris Kernel; 3) AAL 3/4 and AAL 5 segmentation and reassembly; 4) SPANS Signaling and FORE IP address resolution; 5) An interface to FORE's "Connectionless Server" -- PVCs and SPANS SVCs; 6) Native ATM I /O including hardware Multicast -- Standard IP Sockets; 7) UNI 3.0 Signaling; 8) ILMI Dynamic Address Registration; 9) Classical IP; 10) RFC 1483 data encapsulation; 11) RFC 1577 ARP Client and ARP Server -- PVCs and UNI 3.0 SVCs; 12) Operation as a member of up to four Classical IP subnets simultaneously; 13) Standard IP Sockets; 14) ATM Forum LANE 1.0; 15) Emulation of an IEEE 802.3 Ethernet -- LEC Operations; 16) UNI 3.0 SVCs; 17) Standard IP Sockets; C) Guarantee of Source Code Availability [such guarant ee being demonstrated by the vendor entering into, and providing proof of, a Source Code Escrow Agreement between the vendor and FORE Systems, Inc., whereby a copy of each release of the driver software shall be deposited with FORE Systems, and in the event that the vendor is unable to provide or support the driver at any point within the next 10 years, the Source Code Escrow Agreement provides that FORE Systems shall use their copy of the source code to locate and secure another competent vendor to provide updates of this driver]; D) Ability to offer a limited Site License for the specified driver, said license to cover up to 1,350 Intel-based workstations within the Agency; and E) Ability to enter into an agreement with the Government to provide comprehensive software maintenance support for specified driver, on a firm-fixed-price basis, for a 10-year period commencing with delivery of the specified driver.
