Security Administration (SSA) is seeking to identify vendors who can
provide IBM mainframe software. The software is currently installed on
one Hitachi Skyline 72, Group 120 machine and four Hitachi GX8824,
Group 100 machines joined by an IBM parallel sysplex coupling facility.
The mainframes, all located in Baltimore, MD (SSA headquarters), have
ESA operating systems. A representative list of software currently
running on the systems include: TSO/E, NETVIEW, DFSMS, RMF, PL1
RESIDENT, ACF/VTAM, ACF/SSP, FORTRAN, ASSEMBLER, JES3, CICS, GDDM,
TPNS, ACF/NCP, INFORMATION/SYS, SMP/E, PL1 TRANSIENT, ISPF, COBOL II,
and MVS/BDT. SSA knows of only one source, IBM Corporation, which has
the requisite knowledge, experience, and facilities to provide the
software. Interested schedule and non-schedule vendors who can furnish
the software are invited to submit in writing a substantial statement
clearly demonstrating comparable quality of software offered,
substantiated by technical data brochures, and GSA contract numbers (if
applicable). No cost or pricing data is required or requested. This is
not a Request for Proposal (RFP) and the Government does not intend to
pay for the information solicited or received. Respondents will not be
notified of the results of the evaluation of the source data received.
Any interested organization must submit appropriate data within 15
