Contracting Officer Project to install new fire water and domestic
water services at the Air Route Traffic Control Center, Olather, Kansas
to include but not limited to the following: 1) Installation of new
fire water service and new domestic water service 2) Installation of
underground, valve and valve/meter vaults 3) Installation of water
valve and meter assemblies 4) Removal and disposal of fire water
service and domestic water service 5) Removal and disposal of fire
pump, jockey pump and controls 6) Installation of interface between new
sprinkler system and existing building fire alarm control panel and
building automation system 7) Removal and disposal of air compressor
serving fire protection system 8) Installation of air compressor for
fire protection system 9) Installation of interior piping 10) Removal
and disposal of pavement 11) Trenching 12) Installation of underground
water lines 13) Removal and disposal of fire hydrants and installation
of fire hydrants 14) Backfill 15) Repair of existing lawn sprinkler
system 16) Installation of pavement, curbs, gutter and sidewalks 17)
Installation of sod. Estimated price range is $500,000 to 1 million.

for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at aany tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
