COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 25,1997 PSA#1789Westinghouse Electric Corp., Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, P.O. Box
79, 814 Pittsburgh-McKeesport Blvd., West Mifflin, PA 15122-0079 99 -- RUGATE FILTER DEVELOPMENT SOL 73-910175 POC M.R. Pasanek, (412)
476-5781 Provide technical information regarding Rugate Filter
Development. Bettis is seeking a vendor that has the experience and the
capability to design and fabricate rugate filters to provide selective
spectral control on thermophotovoltaic (TPV) cells. The TPV cells are
made of either an InP or an InPAs material, and are approximately 1cm
square, and approximately .050 inches thick. The filter must be a pure
rugate type (not a discrete filter, or a rugate approximation), and
exhibit the following optical characteristics in the infrared
wavelength range of interest: Absorption less than 5% in the wavelength
range between 0.8 microns and 12.0 microns; Transmission greater than
90% in the wavelength range between 0.8 microns and 2.2 microns;
Reflection greater than 95% in the wavelength range between 2.2 microns
and 12.0 microns. If your organization has had experiences meeting
these optical characterization limits in the wavelength ranges of
interest, please notify M.R. Pasanek at the above address/phone number
or FAX (412) 476-7320. If you have any technical questions about the
above desired capabilities, please contact Ron Rometo at (412) 476-6015
or Jeff Csuy at (412) 476-6396. The FAX number for both Ron and Jeff is
(412) 476-5151. Your review and associated comments are requested as
soon as possible. (0052) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0476 19970225\99-0004.SOL)
