holton.kelley@epamail.epa.gov. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
seeks a contractor to support radiation program efforts in the areas
of: (1) radioactive waste control, storage and disposal; (2)
radioactively contaminated site, material, or facility cleanup and
release or reuse; (3) radiation protection (e.g., federal guidance and
emergency preparedness/ response); (4) modeling, risk assessment and
radiation technical support for Superfund sites; (5) natural radiation
contamination of homes and structures; and (6) emission of gaseous
radionuclides to the environment (e.g., National Emission Standards for
Hazardous Air Pollutants). Sources and pathways of radiation and
radionuclide contamination of concern to EPA occur as a consequence of
the activities of (a) Department of Energy (DOE) facilities; (b)
Department of Defense (DOD) facilities; (c) Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) licensees and other private facilities; and (d)
radioactive waste disposal facilities and proposed waste repositories.
Other sources and pathways ofradiation and radionuclide contamination
and hazards result from (a) Superfund sites with potential radioactive
contamination and (b) from nuclear accidents. Also, EPA has interest
and involvement in the radiation-related programs and activities of
various national and international communities/ organizations (e.g.,
International Atomic Energy Agency). The maximum period of performance
will be 36 months, inclusive of a base period and two option periods.
The solicitation is expected to be issued approximately 3/12/97 under
full and open competition, and proposals will be due approximately 30
days after issuance of the solicitation. SIC code number 8999 with a
size standard of $5M in average annual receipts over the last three
years applies. This requirement is a follow-on to portions of contract
numbers 68D20155 with S. Cohen & Associates, Inc.; 68D20156 with Jack
Faucett Associates; 68D20185 with S. Cohen & Associates, Inc.; and
68D20128 with SBA/Advanced Systems Technology. The solicitation and
amendments will be available via the Internet World Wide Web at
http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd. Firms are encouraged to access the
solicitation and amendments via Internet. However, firms who do not
have the capability to obtain the solicitation from Internet, may
submit a written request for a diskette with the solicitation in
WordPerfect 6.1 format from the contact point at the address above.
Telephone and fax requests will not be honored. Only one copy shall be
sent to a corporate entity, regardless of the number of requests from
one or more different geographic locations. A copy of the preliminary
source list will be issued to all prospective offerors along with the
solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which
