The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) manages the disposal of hazardous property for the Department of Defense (DoD). DRMS is considering contracting with the private sector for environmental compliance of our hazardous property management program. DRMS has contracts with sales customers and hazardous waste disposal firms that will need environmental oversight. Some of this property requires disposal through strictly-regulated facilities, while other property has no regulatory restrictions. At this time, DRMS is soliciting sources for this requirement. The contractors will be required to provide services to assess the risks, and to evaluate the compliance and internal controls at various facilities with federal, state and local statutory requirements.
