R -- MEMBERSHIP TO HEALTH CARE ADVISORY BOARD AND GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE SOL RFQ 10-JB-97 DUE 031397 POC Janice Byrd, Contracting Officer (612) 725-2188 The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417 intends to negotiate a sole source commercial item contract with The Advisory Board Company, 600 New Hampshire Avenue, N.W., Washington DC 20037 for membership to provide strategic studies on leading edge issues facing healthcare providers such as Medicare reform and strategy, management information systems, facility networking, consumer marketing, managed care cost restructuring, clinical utilization management, access to researchers to conduct an unlimited number of short answer projects on their behalf (at no charge for staff time, only expenses occurred, i.e. telephone, copying, mailing and database access charges), custom research will involve qualitative research and shall be capable of providing instant service projects including literature searches, expert networks and vendor profiles with instant to 48 hour turnaround time, fact briefs encompassing short answer projects for which the research needs of the Network require specific answers, data and facts within a turnaround time of 7-10 working days, issue briefs that include hospital studies, summaries of hospital practices and qualitative trend analysis within a turnaround time of 20 working days, access to researchers and unlimited access to a library of previously published research studies, practice issue tracking, annual member meetings and one on-site presentation each year at no additional cost (presentation shall be such that it is suitable for senior management retreats, council or medical staff meetings) for VISN 13.
