manpower, labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and supervision
necessary to design, perform environmental remediation, and
construction of approximately 60,000 square feet of Cross Dock
expansion. The work consists of on site and off site aspects of the
project. These aspects are to include but is not limited to the
environmental ground water monitoring well relocation, utilities,
drainage, runoff retention/detention, paving, lighting, building
expansion, existing building integration, phasing/staging, and
continued operations coordination. The Project is to be performed as a
Design/Build Construction of USPS Cross Dock Addition to the Existing
Denver Bulk Mail Center, Denver, CO 80217-2000. This project consists
of furnishing necessary supplies, equipment, services and labor to
Design/Build an expansion approximate of 60,000 square feet (SF)
addition to the existing Bulk Mail Center with its Bulk Mail Acceptance
Unit build out plus approximately 210 SF gross of Security Office,
5,200 gross SF of elevated Lookout Gallery (LOG) and 5,200 gross SF of
Penthouse level Mechanical/Electrical space. The schematic drawings
and specifications have been developed for this facility and indicate
layout of the space and site. Earthwork consists of relocation of an
existing storm water evaporation pond, clearing and grubbing, rough and
finish grading, utility trench excavation and back fill, rerouting and
existing truck access road, and development of the structural base for
the building addition. Site electrical consists of extending the
existing site lighting and existing underground utilities. Mechanical
consists of relocation of site fire sprinkler mains, extending interior
fire sprinkler systems, extending the existing mechanical boiler and
chillier system, adding additional air handlers in a roof top
penthouse. A record survey is available in the solicitation documents.
A preliminary Geotechnical report will be included with the
solicitation and the design/build team will be required to supplement
the report. All U. S. Postal Service criteria, federal, state, and
local jurisdictional criteria will need to be met in the more stringent
interpretation with final review and approval by the USPS Contracting
Officer. The Design/Build Team shall provide an add alternate for
accelerating the project schedule to allow a November 1, 1997,
completion date. The Add Alternate shall include but not be limited to
all associated costs with increased manpower, additional equipment,
utilities and delivery. Offerors will be required to submit both
technical and price proposals. Technical submittals will require
evidence of (1) Experience; (2) Management Plan; (3) Financial
Capability; and (4) Organization. Performance time is 270 calendar days
from date of Notice to Proceed. The estimate cost range is between
$4,000,000. to $4,500,000. A formal pre-proposal Conference, walk
through is required and scheduled for March 12, 1997, at 1:00 P.M. at
the Denver Bulk Mail Center, 7755 East 56th Street, 3rd Floor, PEDC,
Denver, Colorado 80216-9998. The cost of the plans and specifications
for the above project is $150. per set. This charge is non-refundable.
