Consolidated Life Extension Program in support of the Department of Energy, Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) Program. The effort will involve the use of subcontractor-furnished labor, material, equipment, tools, supervision, and transportation required to perform the Consolidated Life Extension Program at the Bayou Choctaw SPR Site, in Plaquemine, Iberville Parish, Louisiana. The work includes (1) installation of welded and flanged process piping, ranging from 1-1/2-inch to 36-inch, (2) plant electrical system revisions up to 69 KV, (3) Instrumentation and control system upgrades, including fiber-optic cable installation, (4) setting and alignment of pumps and motors 1000 horsepower or greater, (5) handling and setting of large process equipment 90 tons or larger, (6) concrete foundation installation for process equipment, (7) excavation and backfill for foundations and process piping tie-ins up to 20 feet deep, and (8) trenching and backfill for process header piping installation. The work to be performed is best classified under Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 1629, (Heavy Construction, Except Dredging. Not Elsewhere Classified). The magnitude of this requirement is anticipated to be more than $10,000,000.00, and will be an unrestricted procurement. A solicitation is expected to be issued around the second week of June, 1997.
