The USCG ELC is seeking qualified sources that can provide information pertaining to marine gyrocompasses. Interested parties shall provide information on marine gyrocompasses that can meet or exceed the capabilities of the Sperry Mark-29, MOD 1 gyrocompass presently installed on the 270' WMEC FAMOUS Cutter Class. The following information is requested as part of our market research in determining the best approach in replacing the gyrocompass currently onboard. Therefore, interested parties are requested to submit a response to the following inquiries. Does your company at the present time produce marine gyrocompasses which provide three attitude output (roll, pitch and heading)? If yes, please provide the following information: model number(s); number of years in production; vessels that utilize these model(s); current market price; description of the training facility and your ability to provide training for the life cycle of the model(s) identified; the level of supportability for the life cycle of the model(s) identified, specifically parts, repair leadtime, service contracts and end item replacement. Also, state your capability of providing Supplementary Provisioning Technical Documentation (SPTD) for the purpose of fully provisioning the model(s) identified. Organizations having the capabilities and expertise required are invited to submit complete detailed information discussing their capabilities in duplicate within fifteen (days) of this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited. Responses must be concise and be specifically directed to the requirement mentioned above. Organizations that respond to the notice must fully demonstrate their capabilities to meet the requirements and adequate detailed data by which to evaluate capabilities should be sent to the attention of James M. McGuirk, Contracting Officer (Code 047/42).
