Space Center (JSC) plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for
approximately 950 desktop workstations of three configurations
including 15" monitor systems, 17" monitor systems, and 17" monitor
multimedia systems in support of various directorates at JSC, Houston,
TX and at Stennis Space Center (SSC), Stennis Space Center, MS. The
anticipated contract will include delivery of state of the art
hardware, integration of a standard software load (provided by the
Government), and complex installation, which includes set-up and local
configuration of the workstations onsite in various buildings at JSC
and SSC. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange
Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement
Policy. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR
Part 12. JSC will perform an evaluation for the purpose of selection
which best fits the organizational requirements. All elements of the
Statement of Work will be evaluated for releventexperience and past
performance. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be
considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on
or about March 11, 1997, with an anticipated offer due date of on or
about April 11, 1997. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B".
The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be
available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Word
or RTF format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which
may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The WWW address, or

shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It is the
offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of the
