procurement will enable the NHTSA Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance
to conduct tests to verify the compliance of vehicles with Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS)213, "Child Restraint Systems"
(Dynamic). Tests shall be conducted in accordance with Office of
Vehicle Safety Compliance Laboratory Test Procedure TP-213-04. There
may be multiple awards for this procurement. Contract(s) will have an
initial term of 12 months with an option to exercise up to 4 option
years (each being 12 months in duration), resulting in a total possible
period of performance of 5 years. Among all of the contracts awarded,
the Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance plans to conduct a total of 55
tests in 4 different child restraint system groups during the initial
term of the contracts. The initial term of each awarded contract will
also include provisions for conducting additional tests from the 4
different child restraint system groups. The solicitation will be
mailed to those interested parties responding by letter or FAX (202)
418-8150 (prior to 10 March 1997) or (202) 366-9555 (on or after 10
March 1997). No telephone requests, please. FMVSS test procedures will
be provided to offerors upon request. Unless otherwise requested, all
FMVSS test procedures applicable to this IFB will be provided on 3.5"
