COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF FEBRUARY 27,1997 PSA#1791Naval Air Warfare Center AD, Contracts Dept. Code 233, Bldg 129-2,
Lakehurst, NJ 08733-5083. 16 -- TEST SET SOL N68335-97-RFI-704 DUE 031297 POC Carl Ruzika Code
25213, (908) 323-2741. Contracting Officer J. Fackenthal. This is a
Request for Information Only. There is no solicitation package
available. The United States Navy is requesting technical information
for the design, development and production of three sets of support
equipment to be used to test, fault isolate, and align the Low Altitude
Navigation and Targeting Infra-Red for Night (LANTIRN) Targeting Pod
installed on F-14 aircraft. Four sets of the equipment were procured
under previous contracts and the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft
Division is seeking three additional sets of this same equipment or,
alternatively, seven complete sets of another testing solution. The
alternative solution may be proposed to meet the requirement, so long
as the cost remains the same or less, and there are no schedule
impacts. Equipment to be provided under the potential contract must be
capable of performing all required testing, fault isolation, and
alignment of the F14 LANTIRN Targeting Pod which has laser, infrared,
inertial and GPS capabilities, an enviromental control package,
advanced computer, and associated power supplies. The proposed
equipment will operate at shore sites and aboad U.S. Navy aircraft
carriers, and must fit into existing spaces (with some facility
modifications possible). Some equipment functions are accomplished via
proprietary processes, and no data will be available in these
instances. Minimal engineering data and no hardware will be available
to the party selected to perform this effort. Additionally, development
and production lead time will be abreviated; 14 months from date of
contract award to delivery due to deployment requirements. Please
provide information regarding capabilities to meet this requirement no
later than 15 days after publication of this notice. All information
should be addressed to Mr. Carl Ruzicka, Naval Air Warfare Center, Code
25213B, Bldg 129, Highway 547, Lakehurst, NJ 08733-5082 who may be
reached at (908) 323-2741. Respondents are notified that a formal
solicitation may not necessarily result from this RFI. Any comments
provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. The
Government will not pay for any information received in response to
this RFI nor will the Government compensate any respondent for any
costs incurred in developing the information provided to the
Government. The Government will not release any information marked with
a proprietary legend received in response to this RFI to any firms,
agencies or individuals outside the Government without written
permission in accordance with the legend. (0056) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0147 19970227\16-0009.SOL)
