Sought synopsis. The following information is provided to do a Market
Survey of industry to see if there are any potential contractors in
addition to BEI Systron Donner, who have the skills and knowledge
required to complete this effort. The Silo-Based Intercontinental
Ballistic Missile (SBICBM) System Program Office (SPO) Ogden Air
Logistics Center (OO-ALC), intends to establish a contract for Inertia
Switches, NSN 5930-00-435-1317AH, P/N 22160, 58 Each. The inertia
switch is part of the pre-mature stage separation system (PSS) to
insure that the missile staging does not occur prior to commands from
the guidance system. BEI Systron Donner is the only known source for
this effort. The response shall describe the potential offeror's
qualifications in the following areas: (1) Contractor's production and
technical capability to produce inertia switches. (2) A working
knowledge of the Minuteman missile flight test program, Vandenberg AFB
launch procedures, and groundsupport equipment instrumentation. (3)
The manufacturer is required to have a good working relationship with
Vandenberg AFB Range Safely and must meet the range safety
specifications. Note: Deviation from the current manufacturing
procedures, a change in the vendor of the subcomponents, or the
substitution of components will require requalification testing and
Vandenberg range safety coordination. Potential offerors are requested
to submit two (2) copies of an unclassified response within 10 days
after publication of this notice to OO-ALC/LMKA, 6038 Aspen Ave Bldg
1289SE, Hill AFB UT 84056-5805, Attn: Ramon F. Castillo, Contract
Negotiator. Information received will be considered solely for the
purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It
is suggested that small business firms or others interested in
subcontracting in connection with the described procurement make
contact with the firms listed. Specifications, plans, or drawings
relating to the procurement described are incomplete or not available
