Carr, Contract Specialist 202-324-5821 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) #70135. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 90-42. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Standard Industrial Classification is 5084. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate the contract action on a sole source basis with Tegam Inc, 10 Tegam Way, Geneva OH 44041. The Electronic Surveillance Technology Section is currently reconfiguring their mainframe module 500 series test equipment. Tegam Inc is the sole qualified supplier of the TM502A Power Module Mainframe (series 500/5000). Tegam Inc., bought out the product line from Tektronix Corporation in May, 1995. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interest parties may submit a proposal in which they identify their interest and capability. All proposals received within 45 days of this notice will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to initiate a competitive procurement. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The requirement consists of two compartment mainframe, lightweight benchtop mainframe, one or two single wide TM500 plug-ins, tilt bail handle, rear panel power entry, switch and line selector assembly, width; 5.7"in, height; 5.5"in, depth; 16.6"in, weight; 8.75lbs, line frequency hz; 48 to 400, power comsumption VA maximum; 120VA, cooling; convection and temperature range; operating O C to +50 C, non-operating; -55 C to +75 C -- Warranty Period one year -- Shipping FOB-Orgin -- Delivery -- Engineering Research Facility, Quantico, VA 22135 -- All proposals shall be submitted to the address listed above no later than 4:00PM EST, April 14, 1997.
