Contracting Officer, 513/366-2025 The U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency's Environmental Response Team Center in Edison, New Jersey has
a requirement for portable real-time aerosol monitors, including
ambient sampling inlet sets. This equipment is required for air
monitoring and sampling of ambient particulates during emergency
responses, Superfund site investigations, and for worker health and
safety. The monitors must meet the following specifications: (1) must
be handheld and transportable by commercial aircraft, (2) must have a
concentration monitoring range from 0.1 ug/m3 to 400 mg/m3, (3) must
have an adjustable flow rate, (4) must have data logging and alarm
capabilities, (5) must have a built-in clock, (6) must have built-in
calibration check capability, (7) must be able to measure on a
real-time basis, (8) must have auto zero function which can be
programmed by the operator, (9) must be battery operated with
continuous operation capability greater than 12 hours, (10) must have
a continuous digital or analog output, (11) must have capability to
sample while monitoring, (12) must have the ability to measure total
aerosols, PM 10 aerosols, and PM 2.5 aerosols, and (13) must be able to
