SMITH (508) 233-4368 (Site Code DAAK60) The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command has a requirement for a commercial backpack and modular components system for use by the Special Operations Forces. This modular system shall include a backpack, butt pack and patrol pack. The combined volume of the backpack and components shall be a minimum of 8250 cubic inches and a maximum of 9000 cubic inches. The Government anticipates the award of a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract. The contract shall consist of a basic ordering period and two optional ordering periods of 20 months each. Each ordering period shall have a minimum of 10 systems and a maximum of 30,000 systems. Offerors will be required to submit two sample systems (size Medium and Large) in subdued colors with their proposals. The solicitation will be released on or about March 15, 1997.
