S Army TACOM -ARDEC, AMSTA-AR-PC-A, Building 10, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000 intends to acquire under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, a requirement for the fabrication, testing, inspection and packaging of a basic quantity of 5,520 M147 Time Delay Firing Device (TDFD) units and an option quantity of 6,349 TDFDs. The Government intends to utilize AAI, Corp., Hunt Valley, MD for this effort. The use of this authority is based on the substantial duplication of cost and unacceptable delivery delays that would result from the acquisition of this requirement from another source. The Government does not possess a Technical Data Package (TDP) for this item. The M147 is a small, approximately 5 cubic inches, electronic based,single shot firing device to be used for a variety of conventional demolition missions. This effort is expected to be awarded in the third quarter fiscal year 1997. The performance period is 12 months. See numbered Note 22. (0058)
