5 Aug 96. Requirements are 717 each maximum quantity, Gun Laying and
Positioning System (GLPS). For use on the Non-Paladin Howitzers. FOB is
Origin. All or part of this action is an unfunded FY97 requirement. The
GLPS will give each towed and self-propelled non-Paladin firing battery
autonomous positioning and directional capability. The GLPS will
consist of a tripod mounted gyroscope integrated with an electronic
digital optical instrument, eye-safe laser rangefinder, and transport
case. The government anticipates a 5 year Firm Fixed Price
(FFP)Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, which
includes four additional ordering periods (OP). The quantity stated
above is the maximum projected quantity to be procured over the 5 year
period. The maximum projected quantities, per ordering period (OP) are
as follows: 75 EA, OP 1, award date through 31 Jul 98; 80 EA, OP 2, 01
Aug 98 through 31 Jul 99; 120 EA, OP 3, 01 Aug 99 through 31 Jul 00;
310 EA, OP 4, 01 Aug 00 through 31 Jul 01; 325 EA, OP 5, 01 Aug 01
through 31 Jul 02. In addition to hardware, the contract will include
Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for ordering periods 3, 4, and 5.
Final award will be based on Best Value Acquisition Techniques (BVAT),
with Technical, Performance Risk and Logistics being evaluated, in
addition to price. Due to the uncertainty of funding, the total maximum
qty per ordering period will not equal the maximum contract qty which
is 717. Estimated issue date of this solicitation is 032197. Failure to
properly address requests for solicitations in accordance with this CBD
notice will result in non-receipt of the solicitation package. Failure
to properly address bids/offers in accordance with solicitation
instructions may result in a late bid which cannot be considered.
Written, fax or electronic requests for solicitation packages are
accepted. No telephone requests will be honored. Requests for copies of
this solicitation should include your commercial and government entity
(CAGE) (if a CAGE code has been assigned to you) along with your name,
address, datafax number, and solicitation number. The fax number for

the Automated Acquisition Information System (AAIS). All ACALA
solicitations are available for viewing/downloading, in addition to
procurement history, via the AAIS. The AAIS can be accessed
electronically, 24 hours a day, using a modem set to dial

bits and 1 stop bit. Once connected, enter "aais" at the "LOGIN"
