Esser, Contracting Officer at (937) 666-4511 The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Vehicle Research and Test Center (VRTC) intends to purchase a commercially available High Speed DIGITAL IMAGING SYSTEM for use in recording dynamic automotive safety research events under both component and HYGE sled test environments. Mandatory requirements for the system include: (1) Capturing the data in full color images; (2) Ability to withstand, in any axis, shock at levels up to 100 G's for a minimum of 10 msec; (3) Recording frame rate capability of 1000 fps; and (4) Motion Analysis of the Event. The initial purchase shall include a system that will, at a minimum, capture the event, process the images, allow on-screen slow-motion and stop-action play-back, allow single images to be extracted, have an x-y position reticle for data reduction, and include motion analysis software. The addition of optional equipment that expands or enhances the system will be considered for the initial purchase and during option periods. A firm fixed pricecontract with options to extend the term and purchase additional quantities is anticipated. An operational capability demonstration may be required before award of this contract.
