Officer, (301) 496-0384 The Clinical Immunology Branch, Division of
Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation, National Institute of Allergy
and Infectious Diseases has a requirement for the acquisition of a
registry for U.S. residents affected by several primary
immunodeficiency diseases. The work will require expertise and
knowledge of these diseases (including the complex clinical
manifestations and the socioeconomic impact on affected families);
interactions with individuals affected by these diseases, their
physicians, and researchers in primary immunodeficiency diseases; and
expertise and knowledge of all aspects of the operation of a registry.
The diseases are: Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease (SCID),
X-linked Agammaglobulinemia (XLA), Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome (WAS),
Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), Chronic Granulomatous Disease
(CGD), DiGeorge Anomaly, Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (LAD), and
Hyper IgM Syndrome. The contract will have two components, A and B. The
registry for SCID, XLA, WAS, CVID and CGD will comprise Part A, for
which a single, completion type contract will be awarded. Part B
describes activities for the Government to support at its option, which
may include expansion of the registry to include any one, two, or all
three of the diseases DiGeorge Anomaly, LAD, and Hyper IgM syndrome. It
is anticipated that one cost-reimbursement, completion contract will be
awarded for a period of five (5) years. RFP NIAID-DAIT-97-11 will be
available electronically on or about March 18, 1997 and may be accessed
through the NIH Home Page or the NIH Gopher by using the following

NIH Home Page. Instructions for this acquisition and for proper
submission are set forth at the Web Site mentioned above. Following
proposal submission and the initial review process, offerors comprising
the competitive range will be requested to provide additional
documentation to the Contracting Officer. Responses to this RFP will be
due on or about May 20, 1997. Any responsible offeror may submit a
