A -- DEVELOPMENT OF A JOINT EMITTER TARGETING SYSTEM FOR F/A-18 (RFI) SOL N00019-97-R-0016 DUE 041497 POC Contact, Sherry Jaouad, Phone (703)604-6100 The Department of the Navy is formulating requirements for the development and integration of a Joint Emitter Targeting System (JETS) for the F/A-18E/F with a potential for the F/A-18C/D and F-16C aircraft. The proposed mission is to provide passive targeting capability through precision direction of arrival and range to threat emitters. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit information that will aid the Navy in formulating a best value approach to meet the requirement by balancing cost, performance, schedule and risk. Interested sources are invited to review the RFI information package and provide responses. The RFI includes some classified (SECRET) information. Interested parties may fax a written request to the Contracting Officer, Naval Air Systems Command, AIR-2.2.2.1.3, 1421 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA 22243-5120, fax number (703) 604-3063. All written requests for the information package must include a cleared address to which SECRET information can be mailed, anaddress for unclassified mail and the name and telephone number of a cleared point of contact. Responses will not be considered as proposals, and neither this announcement nor the RFI should be construed as a request for a proposal. All information contained in the RFI is preliminary and subject to modification and is in no way binding on the government. Questions of requests for clarifying information should be forwarded in writing no later than 7 days after RFI issuance. All RFI responses should be received within 45 days.
