Palmer, Ph: (202) 267-2489 The U.S. Coast Guard seeks a contractor to
assist with the preparation of a Biological Assessment (BA) and
National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) analysis of Protected
Living Marine Resources in the Gulf of Mexico for regulatory compliance
with the Endangered Species Act (ESA) Section 7. In conducting the
analysis, the contractor shall undertake the following tasks: Develop
a baseline assessment of the protected species in the Gulf and the
environmental impacts of Coast Guard operations in the Gulf; facilitate
internal CG discussion sessions to gather information for development
of the protection program; identify the process for developing the
protection program; develop the Gulf of Mexico protection program;
prepare BA and conduct NEPA analysis; and advise the CG during
coordination and consultation with the National Marine Fisheries
Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. All interested parties
shall submit technical capability statements which will be considered.
All responses which are received within 15 days from the date of
publication of this synopsis will be fully considered. Telephone
