original announcement published February 20, 1997, and numbered 034037.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to
acquire from Summit Research Corp. (SRC), Gaithersburg, MD, services
which complete database conversion for the Calibration Program's
computer system from a UNISYS mainframe to a distributed processing PC
environment. The estimated period of performance is nine months. FOB
destination. This requirement follows a prior requirement for similar
services which SRC accomplished. SRC has assisted the Calibration
Program to select the appropriate relational database system, and has
begun customizing this database to serve specific Calibration Program
needs. SRC possesses the knowledge of the Calibration Program database,
knows the structure, how it operates, and has completed part of the
final product. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
NIST intends to solicit one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1.
However, NIST shall consider all capability statements received within
45 days after the date of this synopsis. Interested parties may
identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by
submitting a written capability statement. The capability statement
must provide adequate information on qualifications needed to perform
these services. NIST must receive all of the above to determine whether
