COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 5,1997 PSA#1795Regional Contracting Department, Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Box
300, Pearl Harbor, HI 96860-5300 38 -- DUST COLLECTORS SOL N00604-97-R-0012 DUE 031497 POC Sandy
Nagayama, (808) 474-2397, Ext 223, Contract Specialist, CDR D.J. Graff,
Contracting Officer Correction: This action originally publicized in
the CBD dated 2/14/97, is corrected as follows. The date set for
closing is hereby extended to 14 March 1997. Revise the statement "DC
shall have tine guide openings in the base for safe handling &
transport by a 20,000 capacity forklift." to "DC shall have box section
tine guide openings in the base for safe handling & transport by a
20,000 lbs capacity forklift." The following are provided for
clarification purposes: 1) There are no dimensional restrictions for
height as long as they meet OSHA requirements & have the ability to be
transported by a 20,000 lbs capacity forklift. 2) There are no special
inlet requirements-i.e. size & quantity of dirty air inlets. 3) The
entire DC, including the clean air plenum; dirty air plenum; & cone are
required to be constructed of steel treadplate. 4) Pearl Harbor will
provide duct work from the building to the DC. Vendor to design duct
work from dust collector to fan. "Wiring" as stated in the solicitation
refers to the equipment as a whole and not field wiring from equipment
to building electrical panel. 5) Government personnel to do partial
assembly upon delivery. DC shall be assembled to extent practicable and
disassembled in sections only for shipping restrictions. 6) The DCs are
not replacing existing collectors. 7) The centrifugal blower & control
panel may or may not be separate/unattached to the DC frame structure,
either way is acceptable (separate/attached) provided it complies to
OSHA, NEMA and NFPA Regulations and this solicitation. If the DC is
provided in multiple sections, each section must have their own frame
(i.e., tine guides, legs ...) to support equipment off the ground along
with their own lifting eyes, nameplate, weight certification, etc. 8)
Flame retardant cartridges are required for each DC unit. 9) Ducting
that connects the blower to the dust collector is required. 10)
Contractor to provide necessary wiring from the main blower motors to
the control panel. Panels to bewired to permit each blower to be
independently controlled from a remote location. Contractor to identify
location of control relays in control panel that will permit such
operations. Contractor must also identify necessary power required to
operate blowers and DCs (i.e., volts, amps, number of phases).
Government personnel will provide the necessary wiring to permit the
blowers/DCs to be operated singularly or in groups dependent upon the
type of work being performed. Wiring for solenoids, used for air
blowdown of filter cartridges, to be provided complete with timers if
applicable to a terminal box. 11) A standard coverplate for the
dirty-air inlet area of the DC is acceptable. 12) Bid Bond &
Payment/Performance Bonds are not required. All other information
publicized in the original synopsis is correct. (0062) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0213 19970305\38-0001.SOL)
