This is amendment 003 to the synopsis/solicitation N00421-97-R-1140 for a High Speed CW/Pulsed Antenna Measurement System that originally appeared in the CBD on Thursday January 16, 1997. Amendment 001 was published on Wednesday 22 January 1997. Amendment 002 was posted on 11 February 1997. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions submitted. QUESTION: Requirement (e)(8): The microwave receiver shall have a phase accuracy of 1.0 degree over the full dynamic range. (1) Is a phase accuracy specification of 0.4 degrees/10dB over the full dynamic range including external mixers and cables acceptable? ANSWER: The microwave receiver (not including cables and mixers) shall have a phase accuracy of 1.0 degree over the full dynamic range (85 dBm minimum). QUESTION: Requirement (I)(2) The positioner programmer shall allow any of eight axes to be selected and driven to a commanded position. (2) Is a positioner programmer with six axes of operation acceptable for operation with the furnished Orbit Model4510-1 three axes positioner? ANSWER: No. While six axes will cover the three axes positioner, Model 4510-1, additional control is needed. The following is a breakdown of the requirements: (a) Receiver Site Positioner -- 1. Lower Azimuth, 2. Elevation, 3. Upper Azimuth, 4. Future Expansion, (b) Transmit Site Positioner -- 1. Elevator, 2. Azimuth Squint, 3. Elevation Squint, 4. Polarization.
