E-MAIL: stearrett.barbara@epamail.epa.gov,
simmons.jeff@epamail.epa.gov. The Environmental Protection Agency has
a requirement to remove and replace two banks of battery wet cells
supporting one of its Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. All
work including removal and disposal of the old cells, delivery and
installation of new replacement cells, testing and cleanup shall be
included in the fixed price. The installed base supports the electrical
requirements of automated data processing at the Agency's National
Computer Center (NCC) containing its centralized IBM MVS, IBM OS/400,
EMail, DEC VMS and Unix platforms. EPA's existing UPS equipment was
purchased over the last fifteen years through various Agency contracts.
EPA requires the continued ability to operate the UPS systems supplying
electrical power for the ADP requirements of EPA's centralized
computing platforms. To do so, deteriorated battery cells must be
removed and replaced. This procurement is a total small business
set-aside and the SIC code number is 3691 with a size standard of 500
employees. EPA has received a waiver of the Nonmanufacturer Rule for
replacement of the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) batteries.
