Adamson (217)373-7297 (Site Code DACA88) USACERL requires a meteorological sensor and data logger system for research into sound propagation which meets the following criteria: (1) The system shall be capable of gathering meteorological data on temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, and wind direction; (2) the system must be capable of providing concurrent measurements at up to a maximum of six levels above ground to a maximum altitude of one kilometer; (3) it shall also be capable of determining a continuous profile of meteorological data from the surface to an altitude of one kilometer; (4) sounding data shall be collectable at a minimum rate of three frames per minute from all sensors of a six sensor capable system; (5) the system shall be portable and easily set-up and operated by no more than two people; and (6) it must provide enough storage capacity to collect and store all five parameters from each of six levels for a minimum period of four hours. The accuracy and measurement range will be specified by the Government.This system must be deliverable no more than 90 days after receipt of order. The proposed procurement will be on a sole-source basis. The USACERL Contracts Office intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price purchase order with Atmospheric Instrumentation Research, Inc. Request for Quotation (RFQ) number DACA88-97-Q-0134 will be issued on or about 11 March 1997 with a required closing date of 18 March 1997.
