This is a modification to a CBD announcement dated 11/08/96. The procurement consists of peculiar support equipment for the FA-18 consisting primarily of the LASER Target Designating Test Set P/N 74D740144-1001. The 11/08/96 announcement indicated a procurement of 5 EA. The Government now intends to procure two additional units for a total of 7 EA. The acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not own specifications or drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to procure these items from Hughes Technical Services Co., Long Beach, CA under the authority of U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Firms that recognize and produce the required items are encouraged to identify themselves.. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to open the requirement to competition.
