The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a requirement for the development of a W-Band Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA). The requirement is for a base effort to procure all materials, including the cathode and begin initial fabrication. This effort is to be complete four (4) months from the date of contract award. Option I is for the final fabrication, testing, reports and the delivery of the TWTA. Option I shall be complete eight (8) months after the option is exercised. The TWTA must provide a nominal RF output power of 5 kW peak (at the WR-10 output flange of the TWTA) into a load with VSWR up to 2.0:1 with a maximum TWTA input power level of 200 mW. The TWTA must be capable of operating at a continuously variable TWTA beam modulation duty from a minimum of 0% to a maximum of 10%. The TWTA must support operation with a minimum pulse width of 1 ms and a maximum pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of at least 2 kHz. The maximum pulse width must be no less than 100 ms at a PRF of 1 kHz. Additional detailed specifications will be released with the solicitation.
