The information is required to support the SEC's mission of market surveillance, regulation, enforcement and management review. The news wire will be accessed on the SEC intranet on SEC owned personal computers. The news wire content must include a wide range of US and international stories on business, economics, market prices, finance, SEC filings, exchanges, press releases from major news sources such as the Wall Street Journal and similar professional information. The SEC has determined that Dow Jones' Dow Vision service is the only news wire capable of meeting the information requirements.
