A -- FY 1998 AV-8B CIP PROGRAM POC Contact, Melissa Phillips, Phone (703)604-1920 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with Rolls-Royce for an FY 1998 F402 Component Improvement Program. The CIP provides for the engineering support and testing to improve safety and readiness and increase mission effectiveness for the AV-8B propulsion and power systems. Rolls-Royce is the sole developer and manufacturer of the F402 engines and is the only known source with the unique experience and technical data required to perform this effort.
