A -- SUPPLIER OF HEXOGEN (REX) AND OCTOGEN (HMX) SOL SOURCES SOUGHT POC Doreen Paul, Contracting Officer, (619) 939-9665. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), China Lake, CA, is seeking information on alternate suppliers of Hexogen (RDX) and Octogen (HMX) for use in military applications. RDX and HMX are basic energetic ingredients used in most USA weapons for explosive fills and propellant formulations. The primary focus of the request is to identify manufacturers that are capable of supplying material that has the same performance and safety characteristics as materials currently being used in production of weapons systems. The supplier must have processing controls in place and have the capability to supply production quantities of material upon command. This is not a Request for Proposal, but a Request for Information. This RFI will close 15 days after publication. U.S. and foreign sources will be considered. The primary focus of this request is only a survey of available manufacturers. No contract is currently being planned. All submittals must be unclassified, however, classified data may be referenced to enable a data request to be submitted.
