labor and materials for the construction of a free standing masonry
building for carrier vehicle parking, handicap access ramp and
miscellaneous improvements to entry steps and railings. This work will
include: demolition, excavation, underground utilities, concrete
foundations, masonry (brick and stone), structural steel, roofing,
doors and windows, miscellaneous steel, electrical, plumbing and
heating. Facility is a historic building and the new masonry work is
expected to be of very high quality to closely match the existing
structure. Facility is approximately 10,908 square feet. Estimated
construction cost is $350,000 to $400,000. Construction completion time
is 180 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. A 20% Proposal Guarantee
will be required. A Preproposal conference is scheduled for March 20,
1997 at 10:00 a.m. at the site location, 2145 Main Street, Torrington,
