This is a notice of intent to prequalify firms to construct, renovate or expand Postal facilities located in the Allegheny Area; Pittsburgh District. Postal facilities ranging in size from 1,000 sf to 50,000 sf with an estimated construction cost between $800,000.00 and $5 million dollars. The criteria for contractor prequalification is listed in the package. Applications will be evaluated by a United States Postal Service committee. Primary factors that will be considered are: Construction experience, Financial stability, bonding capacity, Capacity (current workload in relation to company resources), References and previous clients. Other factors to be considered will include: Project management capabilities, Company organization and MBE participation and commitment. All firms will be advised within sixty (60) days of receipt of theirapplications as to prequalification status. Once prequalified, solicitations will be provided to only the most highly qualified firms (a minimum of three and preferably a target of seven); or solicitations will be rotated among prequalified firms on a master list maintained over a 24-month period (standard projects), from which list three or more will be selected for each solicitation. This Prequalification Package is not a request for proposal. Prequalification Statements will not be returned to submitters.
