The Columbia MD Facilities Service Office, US Postal Service is soliciting written expressions of interest from contractors desiring to be placed on a prequalified contractor's list for Design/Build of postal facilities ranging in size from 1,000 SF to 50,000 SF, Maximum construction cost to $5,000,000 to be constructed on USPS owned and/or leased sites. Prequalification statements will be evaluated by the Contracting Officer's staff based on criteria including, but not limited to, the following: 1. Comparable Design/Build experience; 2. Financial stability and bonding capacity; 3. References of previous clients; 4. Capacity to perform multiple projects; 5. Project Management capability; 6. Company organization; 7. Minority participation and commitment; 8. Company safety program. Contractors interested in being considered for placement on the prequalified contractor's list must submit a written request for a prequalification package, which will include PS Forms 254/255. No request will be accepted after the close of date for completed packages to be returned. This Prequalification Package is not a request for proposal. Prequalification Statements will not be returned to submitters. If you mail your package overnight, please use Express mail, available from your local post office. Express Mail pick-up service is available in most locations. For Information call 1-800-222-1811. The sealed manila envelope via US Mail must be postmarked no later than March 28, 1997 @ 4:00 PM. Packages hand-carried must be received at: 10500 Little Patuxent Pkwy. 2nd fl, Columbia MD 21044-3505, Attn.: J. Robinson, no later than 4:00 PM on March 28, 1997. The outside of the manila envelope shall be clearly marked with the following identification: Prequalification Statement of (contractor's name), Project, Location, Solicitation No. 232098-97-A-0053 and Due Date. Firms selected as the most highly qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. Firms not selected will be notified within sixty (60) calendar days of the due date. The prequalified list will remain effective for twenty-four (24) months from the date the list is established. The listed contractors will be requested to submit cost proposals for each facility. The US Postal Service reserves the right to delete from the prequalified list, any contractor that is deemed no longer responsible or is otherwise ineligible to receive a contract award.
